THE SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS!!!
Remember me? I’m the one who doesn’t have the green thumb–the one whose gardening adventures are just that. Daughter #1 decided that pre-Calc was the wrong choice for her and has switched–to Botany. Oh, great—a class I can’t help her with (like I could have helped her with pre-Calculus). Starting late, a project was already underway, so she spent the evening collecting and classifying–bugs, more bugs, and flowers and plants. Suddenly, this became a group activity. Everyone in the family was hunting for pests and sniffing for flowers. At one point, I looked up to find my Valerie holding a tennis shoe in one hand and a baggie in the other–quick Mom, see the spider? Hit it with the shoe or put it in the baggie? Later, I noticed my lovely rose on my dining room table reduced to just a bare stem. Kinda like that empty jar of peanut butter or mayo or milk that sometimes gets left in the frig.
So, today’s task is to be flexible and adapt, taking some time to allow everyone to stretch their wings and grow. At least someone did throw away the headless rose before I got home from work. Looks like we just might be making some progress, after all. Ahhh! The sweet smell of success! You are the Best and good things are coming your way! And today will be filled with an occasional pest and lots of chances to be flexible. Make me proud!
